A Thief in the Night by horizonbound A Thief in the Night by horizonbound
About time I posted this! Illustration done for my computer graphics class last semester - we were supposed to use Illustrator, but I bent the guidelines a bit and used a Photoshop/Manga Studio/Illustrator combo. Much better for my sanity, and much better outcome. Illustrator is eeeevil.

Also! I finally got around to setting up a Society6 shop - so far this is the only print Iíve got available, but I should have other pieces available soon.

I like how the figure is semi transparent. Excellent work!

I love it. Very imaginative and great use of a single light source.

At the moment I'm in a class that is entirely Illustrator. Normally I do the MS/Photo/Illustrator combo myself. This should be interesting... :XD:

I don't envy you! (Well, I envy the Italy part. The Illustrator part, not so much :XD:) Good luck!!!

Absolutely fantastic work! He's got a lot of character, this thief. Liking the use of lighting. And does he have stars in him, or is he semi-transparent? Either way would work for him blending into his background. Quite useful for burglary.

this is awesome. Saw the version up on facebook 1st and was blown away by the dynamism <-totes a word, even if I just made it up (not too many people make the best use of that space, wasn't really expecting something like that). It is soo much easier to draw something freehand before dropping it into a vectorart program. Though I'm more of a photoshop/inkscape/opencanvas(at least since my paint tool sai demo ran out T-T)

Thank you! And oh man yes sketching and inking elsewhere is so much easier than going straight to Illustrator. I rarely use Illustrator because it's such a pain - my typical tools of the trade are Photoshop/Manga Studio/Sketchbook Pro (with the occasion bit of Painter and ArtRage) I wish I could use SAI, but I'm not comfortable with downloading one of the "hacked" Mac versions >.>

Sad, looks like it doesn't run quite the same anyway. Me I'm just too cheap to pick up the paid version, and too much of a stick in the mud to be willing to pick up a pirated copy from a friend. A software publisher has to do something terrible before I'm willing to pirate their stuff.
